I just ran across this 1.228 carat, F-color, VS-1 clarity, Crafted by Infinity Diamond and have to say that it looks like a real winner! The images on the diamond details page and the lab report look stellar!
This diamond is graded on the Platinum Light Performance grading platform of the American Gem Society Laboratory (AGSL) with an overall cut grade of AGS Ideal-0.
And it exhibits a crisp and complete pattern of Hearts & Arrows, which demonstrates that it has exceptional optical symmetry, which is an integral part of sparkle factor, or what we in the industry like to refer to as visual performance.
The cut precision of a diamond has to be extremely precise for a crisp and complete pattern of hearts and arrows to appear, because it will only appear when the facet-to-facet symmetry is aligned perfectly, not only within each facet section, but also horizontally and vertically across the sections.
The proportions of the diamond have also been optimized for maximum light return, in accordance with Tolkowsky’s Diamond Design, and my own selection criteria… the diamond has a total depth of 61.8% with a table diameter of 55.8% and a crown angle of 34.3 degrees which is offset by a pavilion angle of 40.9 degrees with a thin to medium, faceted girdle and a pointed culet. It simply doesn’t get any better than this! These measurements are smack dab in the middle of the range specified for the zero ideal cut rating!
In terms of inclusions, there are a few diamond crystals, and needle shaped diamond crystals, and some tiny feathers, all of which are well within the body of the diamond. Since the diamond is VS-1 in clarity, you’re going to have to look pretty hard to find these inclusions, even with a loupe… the diamond will be completely eye clean.
If you’re looking for a spectacular round brilliant ideal cut diamond, that’s a little larger than a carat and a half, which is going to face up bright and lively, then I think that this 1.228 carat, f-color, VS-1 clarity, puppy from High Performance Diamonds is the ticket! I’d appreciate it if you’d tell Wink that I said hello, so that I get credit for pointing you in the right direction, your price on the diamond will not change. Oh but while we’re talking about price… tell Wink that I said to give you 15% off the price of the setting!
