High Performance Diamonds is the online distributor for the cutting edge production of Crafted by Infinity from Antwerp, Belgium. They are one of the world’s leading producers of Hearts and Arrows diamonds. In fact, they are one of two diamond cutting houses that produced diamonds for our private reserve. Without a doubt, that statement alone should tell you something!
To put it another way (just in case you missed that) Crafted by Infinity is one of the chosen ones! Their production of Hearts & Arrows diamonds meet my selection criteria with 100% Certainty. They produced the H&A Diamonds featured as our Private Reserve Collection. We built an Online Empire and Stellar Reputation upon the Light Performance & Sparkle Factor of Crafted by Infinity diamonds.
High Performance Diamonds in Boise, Idaho is the exclusive online distributor for Crafted by Infinity. We used to be the other online distributor. However, we no longer sell diamonds directly. For that reason, I’m going to refer you to my good friend and former competitor, Wink Jones of High Performance Diamonds.
You see the guy in the picture to the left, riding his kayak down Main Street in Boise, Idaho? That’s Wink Jones of High Performance Diamonds. That’s a total riot, right? This is actually the incident that sparked my introduction to Wink, before either of us were distributors for Crafted by Infinity. The story goes something like this. “Allegedly the water main outside Wink’s office ruptured for no apparent reason.”
Wink just happened to have his kayak on hand because he is an avid enthusiast of the sport. Which is why he took immediate advantage of the situation.
Rumors that Wink struck the fire hydrant with his truck so that he could go kayaking are grossly exaggerated. By all means, the situation seems like a common enough occurrence. And it only makes sense to throw your kayak down in the middle of the road and go for a ride if the opportunity arises.
Nevertheless, this is how Wink and I became good friends. On account of this photograph finding its way onto a popular diamond forum. Up until that point, I’d never heard of Wink, however something told me he was going to be a great competitor. To that end, I wanted to know more about him.
So I gave him a call and introduced myself. Naturally, I rousted him a bit “some guys will do anything for some free press!” He didn’t deny the claim. Of course, I also congratulated him on being absolutely brilliant! We’ve been good friends ever since.
Wink is definitely one of the good guys in my book. He’s a diamond dealer who wears a white hat and conducts his business the old fashioned way. Focusing on customer service and quality, which means that he only sells Crafted by Infinity diamonds.
Undoubtedly, I refer a ton of people to High Performance Diamonds! One of the reasons is because I know exactly how amazing your Crafted by Infinity diamond is going to look. As a former authorized dealer for Crafted by Infinity, I’ve literally purchased thousands of them. Remember that Crafted by Infinity used to cut hearts and arrows diamonds for our in-store private label.
The brand is extremely consistent and I’ve never rejected a single Crafted by Infinity diamond for cut quality. On the other hand, my average rejection rate for standard ideal cut diamonds was almost fifty percent. In other words, these guys are the rock stars of diamond cutting! If you’re not familiar with them, you really need to watch this video:
Now you know why High Performance Diamonds only sells Crafted by Infinity Hearts and Arrows diamonds! But what you don’t know is that I actually helped Wink launch this web site! That is to say that I helped him promote High Performance Diamonds when he transitioned over from WinkJones.com
In fact, there is a picture of me evaluating diamonds in the grading room featured on the High Performance Diamonds newsletter. While I’m not directly involved with the day-to-day operations of High Performance Diamonds, I’ve definitely got the inside scoop. Why? Because Wink and I are good friends and share a mutual respect for each other. To put this in perspective, I can count the guys I know like Wink on one hand.
All right, you get the idea, right? Let’s move on to 3 diamond buying mistakes that Wink is going to help you avoid.
The first thing you need to understand when buying a diamond, is that you’re buying a rock. Okay, technically, it’s a mineral, but it’s still a freaking rock! And you’re about to plunk down thousands, if not tens of thousands of dollars on a rock! It would be foolish of you to assume that all rocks are the same.
The reality is that you know this on an instinctual level, which is why you might limit your search to GIA Excellent cut diamonds. Which is a pretty good start, but did you know that the GIA Excellent grading platform has room for improvement?
Only the American Gem Society Laboratory takes Light Performance into account as part of their cut grade criteria. The GIA Excellent cut grade only takes polish, symmetry and proportions into account. So does the AGS Ideal-0 Light Performance grading platform, but they also grade for light performance.
The GIA also rounds off many of the measurements on the diamond grading report to the nearest half a percent or degree. “You could drive a truck through that” as they like to say! In contrast, the AGS Laboratory reports the actual measurements without rounding them off. This is why cutting edge diamond cutters like Crafted by Infinity and dealers like myself and High Performance Diamonds, insist upon sending our diamonds to the AGSL for grading!
In the same way that people tend to believe that something is “new and improved” because those words are stamped on the outside of the box, people tend to think that a GIA Excellent or AGS Ideal is the very best, because that’s what it says on the certificate.
Well, first of all, it’s not actually a diamond grading certificate! It’s a diamond grading report, and it clearly says so on the back in fine print. Minor point of contention, ahem!
Suffice to say that the cut grade represented on the diamond grading report, represents a range of quality. As such, there is a low end, a middle ground, and high end of the spectrum. The vast majority of “ideal cut diamonds” floating around out there, barely qualify for the low-end of the spectrum. They have proportions that are right on the edge of very good, or exhibit poor optical precision. Which is something that diamond grading laboratories don’t actually take into account!
By the same token, you’re going to want to rely upon the expertise of somebody like me to help you interpret those images. Because the reality is that you probably have better things to do with your time, than learn how to interpret those photographs.
On the other hand, you might enjoy knowing what the different colors of an ASET Scope mean. We’ve got tutorials on all that stuff if you really want to spend hours wading through it all. Or you could simply buy a Crafted by Infinity hearts and arrows round diamond from Wink. Do that and you can rest assured that you’ve bought the very best diamond that money can buy!
Notwithstanding some kind of unforeseen tragedy, it goes without saying that a diamond is forever. The translation of that concept implies that the relationship is going to last forever. By the same token, we like to live our lives within the little bubble of sub-reality, where we like to think that bad is ever going to happen.
Far be it from me to burst that bubble, but I can tell you from personal experience that life is full of surprises. That is to say that sometimes bad things happen to good people. Divorce happens. Tragedy strikes. People lose jobs. There are medical emergencies that sometimes go well beyond the limits of insurance. And when those things happen, one of the first things that people tend to do is try to sell their diamond to raise capital.
Unfortunately many of the diamond vendors out there are only interested in the profits involved with selling you a diamond. Sure, a few of them offer pretty good trade-up and trade-in policies in the event that you want to spend more money. But the vast majority of them are not interested in buying the diamond back from you if you need to sell it.
Unless of course, you’re willing to sell it to them at a substantial loss. Now you’ll recall that I said earlier that Wink is one of the good guys, he wears a white hat (figuratively speaking). To that end, he is one of the few diamond dealers I know who offers a lifetime trade-up and buyback policy. Naturally, terms and conditions apply, so you’ll want to get full details from Wink. But I’ve had a few clients have to use this over the years, needless to say it can be a real life saver!
As a professional diamond buyer with 30+ years of experience, I know that Crafted by Infinity diamonds are incredible. At the same time, it’s perfectly understandable that you might want to see it for yourself. Which is why High Performance Diamonds offers their unprecedented See It to Believe it Program!
Wink knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that Crafted by Infinity diamonds are the finest in the world. Which is why he so boldly offers a lifetime trade-up and buyback policy! Plus the diamond details page for every Crafted by Infinity diamond features all of the information necessary for you to buy with complete confidence. And there is of course, a generous inspection and return period!
Nevertheless, Wink recognizes that you might prefer to see the diamond before you buy it. And that’s why he created the See It to Believe it Program! To give online diamond buyers the chance to feast their eyes on their Crafted by Infinity diamond, without having to buy it first.
It goes without saying that the finest diamonds in the world, deserve a setting which is just as impressive. Which is why High Performance Diamonds offers full service custom jewelry design. Wink and his team of jewelry designers will work with you to create the design for your perfect engagement ring!
This image shows a custom halo setting created to cradle a 2.13 carat, H-color, VS-1 clarity, Crafted by Infinity diamond. The ring design was created using Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) which is my preferred method for creating custom rings. This is because the design process ensures that both sides of the ring will be symmetrical.
You’ll be able to see how your custom engagement ring is going to look from all angles, before the mold is even cut. This method of jewelry design is far superior to the traditional lost wax method. It’s also much more affordable than having the ring model cut by hand.
Notice that the details of the accent diamonds appears to the right of the ring design. The number and millimeter size of the accents diamonds is provided, along with the carat weight. You really have to appreciate Wink’s dedication to providing his clients with the best experience.
So what else can I tell you about Wink? Rumor has it that his love affair with gems began back in 1970. That’s when he bought his first gemstone for his girlfriend in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. That lovely lady is now his wife. She’s a wonderful person. I really don’t know what she sees in him 😉
Wink graduated from the Gemological Institute of America, way back in the day, circa 1975. I like to remind Wink that he graduated from the GIA, before I was even born! I should probably add his accomplishments to my History of the World Part I ~ How Old Is Your Diamond article. Because Wink is a renowned expert on the subject of diamond cut quality.
That might be why Wink has a knack for explaining why Crafted by Infinity diamonds are so amazing! I tend to get into all the nitty gritty details pertaining to proportions and optical precision. Wink kind of brushes over all that and simply points the incredible sparkle factor! Be sure to ask him to shoot a video of whichever Crafted by Infinity diamond you select.
Whenever we get together at a trade show or one of the Crafted by Infinity cut conclaves, Wink’s face lights up whenever he talks about diamonds. The guy really “walks the talk” and is clearly passionate about hearts and arrows diamonds! That is probably the reason why he has specialized in ideal cut diamonds for more than 30 years.
He once told me that his love affair with diamond cut precision began back in 1975. That’s when Wink first saw the difference that precision cutting has upon light performance! It was then that Wink decided that he would never accept anything less for his bride.
As you might expect, Wink doesn’t want you to settle for anything less than he would buy himself. Hmmm, that way of thinking sounds kind of familiar. That might be one of the reasons why Wink and I get along so well. We are both able to recognize and appreciate the supreme sparkle factor created by the highest level of optical precision. Of course, Wink would simply say that we’re both able to appreciate how incredible Crafted by Infinity diamonds look.
Awhile back I had the opportunity to visit Wink and his wife in Boise, Idaho. They were amazing hosts, right up until the moment when Wink tried to take me kayaking! Oh sure, you think that sounds like fun! But let me tell you, it was raining cats and dogs outside! Imagine Wink standing there with that stupid “I’m so stoked!” look on his face, while I question his sanity. Who the heck goes Kayaking in the middle of October in Idaho? Obviously, the guy who keeps a kayak tied on top of his truck year round!
Since Wink’s attempt to lure me into the raging waters of some rain soaked river failed, he decided to show me the vault. As it turns out, Wink has an amazing collection of rare, award winning colored gems! So I got to sit there in his office and play in the safe, which is much better than flying down rapids in the rain.
Wink enthusiastically told me the story behind every one of those incredible colored gems! I have to say that if you’re ever in the market for a truly amazing colored gem, you definitely want to give Wink a call.
So there you have it, you owe it to yourself to check out High Performance Diamonds. The online distributor for Crafted by Infinity of Antwerp, Belgium. Based upon experience, I can tell you that those diamonds are among the finest in the world! They exhibit the highest level of light return and broad spectrum sparkle!
By all means, if you talk to Wink, be sure to tell him that the guy looking through the microscope on his web site says hello 😉
And be sure to take advantage of my free Diamond Concierge Service if want a little help picking just the right diamond. Or you can just ask Wink, he’s pretty good at it. LMAO at his expense, as usual. Hey, what are friends for?
